Steroid Pros and Cons

Pros and Cons of Anabolic Steroids

The pros of taking anabolic steroids are obvious as steroids have the potential to improve your athletic ability, increasing fat loss, muscular strength and endurance. Because of the ability to carry more oxygen in your blood steroids can give an extra advantage in competition if the morality of taking it is not considered.

Without going into detail on the moral imperative that any competitor takes on when competing in any sport, it needs to be stated that no athletic competition will openly endorse taking steroids simply because it is a synthetic stimulant that will improve or hide genetic and psychological disadvantages the competitor might have.

Because you compete in a competition that does not test for steroids should not mean that you can and should take steroids. The definition of competitive sport is trashed when steroids are taken and it is strongly advised that you take a lot of time out thinking about taking steroids to win a competition.

The cons when taking steroids could fill a book as these side effects have been studied extensively and the possibility of not getting any of the many different side effects are very small indeed. Below is just a brief list of the well-documented side effects of taking anabolic steroids.
